Baby Shower Favors: Jellies, jams, and other preserves

If you’re looking for a sweet and affordable gift for your party guests, jellies, jams, and other preserves in little jars too, make so cute baby shower favors.

You can of course buy small jars of preserves, in all kinds of delicious flavors; but don’t forget that homemade jelly and jam is fairly easy to make too.

And here’s a sweet idea – buy or make preserves in a color that coordinates with your baby shower theme.  For example – small jars of lemon curd would make adorable favors for a lemon, or a rubber ducky baby shower; for a pink baby shower mini jars of strawberry jam would be a good choice, and for a blue – little jars of blueberry jam.  And if your party theme is teddy bears, or Winnie-the-Pooh, then a gift of a small jar of honey, is sure to make your party guests smile.

Decorating jars of store-bought or homemade preserves, is  simple as well – just wrap a pretty ribbon, or a piece of raffia, around the neck of each jar, and tie it in a bow – this too could be chosen to coordinate with the party theme; then just attach a gift tag, expressing your thanks, to each ribbon.  Depending on the size of your jars – a mini wooden spoon, secured by your chosen decorative tie, would also be a nice addition.

Incidentally,  you can buy some really pretty, sticky decorative labels.  These are just perfect for embellishing little jars of homemade preserves.  Alternatively you could design and print your own fun labels.
